Kasey Gillette Period 5/6 Mrs. Muldoon English 2 Question #3
All schools have bullying, it comes with the package of growing up in the world. Some bullying is natural, the everyday teasing or poking fun at. But some bullying is vicious and should not be tolerated. Shoving kids into lockers or beating them up should not even be considered bullying. If a student is punched, should they punch back? Or should they walk away and let the bully torment them throughout the school year. First of all, bullying shouldn’t even exist. But unfortunately bullying make the bullies feel better about themselves. I think that the victim should not fight back. Punching or fighting the bully back is going to cause more trouble and give the bully to have a reason to hurt him now. The bully is not going to stop until the victim does something about it. Unfortunately bullies want the victim to react and feed off of their emotion. If other students stood up for the victim, it would be more effective than having one person fighting his own problems. If a group of the victim’s friends stood by his side without violence it would probably be more effective. For example when Peter got his pants got pulled down in the cafeteria, Josie did nothing about it. If Josie had stood up for Peter and helped him through his hard times, maybe ten students wouldn’t have died at Sterling. Peter getting panted was the last straw and the next day he brought guns to school.

I completely agree on your opinion. Bullying Shouldnt exist. Now im not saying im an angel when it comes to this but there really should be zero tollerance for any kind of bullying, verbal physical wat ever it may be. I think you should of used a little more examples from the book but in all a good essay

That was a really good essay. I dont completely agree with how you say "I think that the victim should not fight back. Punching or fighting the bully back is going to cause more trouble and give the bully to have a reason to hurt him now. " If the student doesnt fight back then there anger will build and things like a school shooting can occur. But i do agree with what you said about coming together to fight back. Kids theses days should unite and help each other out instead of standing by and waching.
