How important is popularity? Many kids and teens will go to great lengths to try and become, per say, “popular”. A major question is how important it is to be popular is; and what is popularity. The “cool” kids are supposedly the popular ones every ones wants to be. However, the true popular ones are the people that are themselves in their one personal way. It is not worth it to try and impress another group of people. When you belong to a group it should always be a group with friends that respect and care for you. Being popular may mean hanging out with fake friends and peers that are just trying to be cool.
The difference between being popular and belonging to the group is how you really fit in. You can tell if you are really comfortable around your so called friends or if you are not. When you are popular you can hang out with the kids but not matter. When you belong to the group they should accept you for who you are. The kids who try and be popular never end up truly being successful inside and outside.
Popularity is never more important than anything else. It will never matter in the end and you will always be happier hanging out with kids who accept you and do stuff that you like. It can lead to bad choices and can result with consequences such as physical harm, public embarrassment, and law intervention. Trying to be popular is never worth anything that will harm you or go against your will.
Can everyone be popular? The only answer is yes. Everyone is popular in their own special way. Everyone can be popular if they just be themselves. Some people may still think they are not popular and that a certain group of kids a popular. Those kids will often get into bad things. Some may think that the popular girls are cuter or the popular boys are better athletes but that doesn’t matter if you are just yourself. You can be anybody you want to be so what does popularity matter anyway.
In the end, anyone can be popular. What people think is the only way to be cool is not the only way to be cool. Being yourself will keep you safer and better off. Whatever group you are happy in is the true popular group. Everyone is popular in their own way and there is no need to try and be cool.
