Popularity can be a bunch of different things. It can be a group of snobs or a bunch of unique people hanging out. They could be strangely talented or just really nice. Some people have a totally different idea about popularity. A popular person can be smart, well dressed, funny, attractive, talented, inventive or just fun to be around. The truth is popular people are generally well liked by their peers and are sought out for friendship.
Popularity has to do with social behavior, how someone acts, not what they look like. Popular people have good people skills, and a strong sense of self-esteem. They are trustworthy, agreeable, have a good sense of humor and keep up with the trends.
Is there something wrong with me if I am not popular? Of course not! No one is born popular. Maybe you haven’t found the right group of friends yet or maybe you have to be more proactive and put more effort into your social life. Be flexible and broaden your social circle by getting involved in clubs and social events. Concentrate on developing your strengths and interests. Avoid becoming discouraged. Be true to yourself. And make others feel good about themselves. Take the time to get to know other people because you want to, not because you're driven by a desire to be someone you're not. Don’t be two-faced; be nice to the friends in your group and to the ones who are not. Being popular won’t make you a more successful entrepreneur, or scientist, or inventor or actor or even writer. You have no obligation to be popular. Live your life by your values.
