The lesson of this story is to be yourself and not to hide behind a facade in hopes of fitting in.

some people feel the need to impress others by acting like something they are not. For example, Jin wants to fit in at his school he does this by disassociating himself with his culture and heritage.

thats a very good point, but maybe people hide behind a facade becasue they don't want people knowing their real personality.

Why is it so hard for Jin Wang to be "himself"? Do you think you are "yourself" all of the time? Why or why not?

It is so hard for Jin to be himself because of all the people that prejudge him and the prejduce against his culture and his heritage.

I hope you will answer Stephanie's last question because it is a very good one. This was, by the way, a pretty good dialogue. You do need to respond to other inquiries in a more detailed manner.
Don't you agree that lots of us hide behind facades? Ethnicity isn't always a factor. What other reasons do people have for pretending to be someone they are not? Isn't this story a lesson for all of us? Did Jin ever realize who he really was? Do you think he will ever be comfortable in his own skin?
