Would you steal a piece of clothing from a store, or money from people you don't know? Well, when a person illegally downloads music your doing just that. People who illegally download music only look at the positives. They seem to do it mostly because it's cheaper then actually buying the songs of their choice, some of the songs they want are not available on Itunes, or some people are just to lazy to get up and have the satisfaction of a brand new purchased CD they bought at the local music store.
In reality, half or more of the students have gotten the songs that are on their Ipods or MP3 players by illegal file sharing, or other wise known as downloading. Illegally downloading music is any form of unauthorized duplication of music by downloading, file sharing, or even CD-burning with out the consent of the record label or anyone of high official. Most people think that the only harm that they are doing when they illegally download music is taking away a couple of bucks away from billionaire representatives who work for the record companies. You're wrong. When you take music, you are hurting the artist, and the little people who simply work for the higher officials.
The little perks about illegally downloading music is another downfall of the whole system. When people download songs illegally, your not 100 percent guaranteed the best quality of the song like you are when you simply buy songs. Did you know when you download the song illegally, your taking the whole file with you. The file you receive has been transferred to a lot of places, so you never know what viruses you can get.
When you just pay the 99 cent fee on Itunes or just by the whole album including the art work for the CD for 10 dollars, you not only get all the songs you want, and your conscious stays clean! Some sites even let people have select songs for free downloading, and thats really the only time it should be okay to download music with out having to pay. Millions of people stealing music doesn't make it right.
