I intend to prove that Shore Regional students should wear uniforms to school. It puts all the students on an equal footing. They don't have to compete over who's got the best trainers etc. It gives them a sense of identity and belonging. They feel they belong to the school and also it makes them look smart. Many educators and sociology experts believe that students who wear school uniforms behave more appropriately in the school environment
School uniforms would help parents save money on clothing. Parents would not have to buy all kinds of shirts and pants. Kids, whose parents would not or could not buy them the newest fad, would not be embarrassed or harassed because of their clothes. Also teachers would not have to worry about breaking the “clothes police”.
School uniforms would save parents time. Also kids would already be prepared in the morning and would not have to waste time thinking about what they should wear to school. Uniforms would also be cheaper than clothes in expensive stores such as Hollister, Abercrombie and Fitch, etc. It stops the feeling of jealousy. Uniforms make it easy to identify kids who belong in the school and those that don't.
Some kids use baggy clothes to hid weapons and drugs. Lots of gangs use cloths to identify themselves and other gangs. But with kids wearing uniforms, these things would not be a problem at school. Also it would decrease violence because of clothing and shoes. School uniforms would decrease fighting and violence that arise out of arguments over fashionable clothes.
So you see, uniforms would be the ultimate solution to our differences. Some kids may not have enough money to buy certain clothing that others wear, and this gives them the opportunity to fit in with everyone else. Many parents report that their children spend a great deal of time planning and choosing their daily clothing, and that uniforms allow students to use this time to sleep or study.
